A Day In The Life Of Our Staff Algorithm Engineer, Navigation
Work with cross functional teams to identify concepts and solutions to navigation and other image guided surgery challenges
Research, rapidly prototype, iterate and evaluate concepts and solutions
Perform thorough technical evaluation and make data-driven decisions
Contribute high-quality software implementations that can be incorporated into a medical device
Participate in future product roadmapping
Mentor junior engineers and interns
Support the definition of ML processes and best practices, build infrastructure
Draft technical documentation and patent disclosures / applications
About You:
Education: PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a similar field, exceptional MS degree will be considered
Experience: Strong technical skill and track record of excellence with 8+ years of total experience of algorithm development for navigation, and preferably going through a full cycle of medical product development
Deep understanding and hands-on experience of one or more of the following areas:
Geometric computer vision related to camera calibration, stereo reconstruction, pose estimation, robust estimation, numerical optimization, structure from motion or SLAM
Navigational sensor processing, sensor fusion, Bayesian filtering, and probabilistic robotics
Image and point cloud registration
Deep Learning for computer vision or medical image analysis
3D graphics and rendering
Technical skills: Proficiency in C++/C# and Python with a good understanding of SW development and OOP, along with an advanced understanding of mathematics and algorithms. Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of solving complex technical challenges efficiently.
Adaptability: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Soft skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Experience in presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong project leadership and collaboration skills
