Description The Department of Biostatistics and Informatics (BIOS) of the Colorado School of Public Health (CSPH) has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow position. The successful candidate for this position will work withing the team directed by Dr. Antonio R. Porras, PhD.
The selected candidate will benefit from and contribute to multiple existing collaborations with top-ranked hospitals in the Anschutz Medical Campus. Specifically, the selected candidate will work on projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that aim to develop image computing and machine learning methods, together with translational tools, to understand and identify both normal and pathological pediatric development to improve childcare.
The new postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the design and development of novel medical image computing and machine/deep learning methods. Their scope may include image segmentation, image registration, disease screening and diagnosis, discovery of new image-based biomarkers, quantitative image-based phenotyping, anatomical modeling and/or predictive analysis. In addition, the selected candidate will collaborate with other faculty, students and physicians in the clinical translation of the developed methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of medical image computing and machine/deep learning methods
- Submission of manuscripts to scientific journals and conferences
- Coordination with research assistants and students
- Coordination with clinical collaborators
- Contribution to the coordination of the research lab together with other faculty and postdoctoral researchers
