MICCAI 2020 Yoga

Join us for morning yoga and start a long conference day full of energy! Customized yoga sessions will be provided at 7:00 AM CET on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Videos will be available throughout the duration of the conference and can be done at any time.
The tutorial will be conducted by Meghan Woodard, who is a professional yoga instructor. She will be guiding the yoga session and offering options for different expertise levels, so do come along!
MICCAI 2020 Educational Challenge
The MICCAI Educational Challenge will be held for the fifth time, leading up to and concluding at MICCAI 2020 in Lima, Peru. The goal of the challenge is to encourage members of the MICCAI community to create and share educational materials, covering fundamental concepts in medical image computing and computer-assisted interventions.
The first prize winner of the MICCAI Educational Challenge will receive a prize of $500, sponsored by the MICCAI society. Pending sufficient submissions, a second and third place prize will also be awarded. The winner(s) will be decided by popular vote and announced at MICCAI 2020.

MICCAI 2019 Educational Challenge
You’re probably creating notes and presentations for yourself or for lab meetings anyways – consider submitting your educational materials to help the community! The first prize winner will receive a $500 prize, sponsored by the MICCAI society, with the possibility for second and third place prizes given a sufficient number of submissions.

– Submitted tutorials may be formatted as videos, papers, presentations or blog posts (optionally published through the new MICCAI Educational publication on Medium).
– Especially desired: “How to make it work” tutorials focused on the implementation details that are not usually discussed in papers and topics such as segmentation, statistical analysis of medical images, computer-assisted intervention, and optical/histology applications.

Ping An Finance Centre is the tallest building in Shenzhen, and the 4th tallest building in the world. The Free Sky Observation Deck is set on the 116th floor of the building at 541 meters high from the ground. You can enjoy 360 degree views of the city and its surrounding areas, including Futian Port and Hong Kong. The meeting point is the lobby of the conference venue.

Social Hiking Tour
Friday, October 18th, 09.00 AM – 6.00 PM
After a fascinating conference week it’s time to explore the beautiful locations around Shenzhen. Considered the most beautiful trail in Shenzhen, this hiking tour starts from Zhongying Street at the border between Shenzhen and Hong Kong for a glimpse of one of the biggest container terminals in China. The hike then continues along the coastline and the beach. There are steps in certain sections but most of the trail is paved walkway or wooden boardwalk and is accessible for everyone. The meeting point is the lobby of the conference venue. Don’t forget to pack some food, drinks, comfortable shoes and sunglasses!

Sports Running
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 14th, 15th and 16th, 07.00 AM – 8.00 AM
Join us for morning runs and start a long conference day full of energy! Similar to previous years in Granada, Quebéc and Athens we meet at the lobby of the convention center at 7:00 AM to join the runs on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
This year we will divide participants into two groups. First group will follow a running route of approximately 5 kilometers, while the second group will cover a distance of 8 kilometers. Both running routes will start and end at the conference center. We will take the pace of the slowest runner, so do come along regardless of your pace! Participants must be fit and in good physical health to participate.

Sports Kungfu

Join us for an introductory workshop of Wing Chun, a Southern Chinese style of Kung fu. It requires quick movements and it is an effective and popular form of self-defense. The course will take place in a Wing Chun academy with an experienced instructor in english. We will meet at 7.00 PM at the lobby of the conference venue and head to the class together. Participants must be fit and in good physical health to participate. We advise you to bring athletic clothing for this event.

MICCAI 2018 Educational Challenge
The MICCAI Educational Challenge is on!
Submit your educational materials and tutorials (papers, presentations, blog posts etc.) to help the community!
The main goal is to provide educational material for researchers in the field of medical image computing and computer-assisted interventions. With the MICCAI Educational Challenge, we hope to build a library of tutorials relevant to the MICCAI community and created by its members. Establishing a comprehensive collection will make the field more accessible and shorten the startup time for new students.
Highly encouraged are "How to make it work” tutorials focused on implementation details, since these are often not discussed in papers.
Submissions are open until August 3rd, 2018.
The winner will receive a $500 prize, sponsored by the MICCAI society!
